But all of the game’s best players are out in force at Ridgewood. The last thing they want to do is let Tiger back into the winner’s circle. Thanks for following along today folks! A bit of a medium morning for Tiger Woods.
On the par-4 471 yard 10th Woods takes driver and tried to hit a little fade but he tugs it left again. He’ll have to play from the deep stuff again. Good angle to the hole from there but this one will depend on the lie. Woods for birdie…it’s an uphill left-to-right bender..and it just misses on the low side. Still safe two-putt par to open.
I don’t think I had thought once about Weir’s final-round troubles since that day but the second Brennan brought up Weir and the ’99 PGA at Medinah it came flooding back to me. I’m sure Woods’s memory of it is only clearer.
Not only did Kern make the cut but he kept it going through the weekend shooting 67-70 to finish T42 at three under par — the best finish by a club pro since 2005.
Woods for birdie…and it drops RIGHT IN THE HEART. A phenomenal finish. The crowd is thundering. Looks like he’s going to come up just shot but that is a 64 with no fairways hit on the opening nine holes. Amazing stuff. He’s -14 for the event.
