Genuinely perplexed Scott asked where he had thrown a club and his playing partner told him “On the 5th hole. You threw your club out of the bunker.” Scott said “I didn’t throw it. I tossed my club to my bag after hitting out because I had to rake the bunker. Why would I throw the club when I got it up and down?”
The final round of the 2018 PGA Championship is well underway at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. So far there have been a lot of birdies on the course but no one has cracked the -8 number. Tiger Woods tees off alongside Gary Woodland in 20 minutes. Leader Brooks Koepka and Adam Scott set off in the final group at 2:55 p.m. ET.
Golf’s more famous Zach Johnson was on the course in the midst of shooting a final-round 66 that left him with a share of 19th place. This guy was Zach J. Johnson club pro from Utah and he’d missed the cut.
Some excitement in the group behind TigerBrooks Koepka poured in an eagle putt from range while DJ is on his way to a triple after losing his tee shot. Brooks to -4 DJ back to -1. No. 18par 4 458 holes. Tiger goes Fore Left with driver and ends up in some trees. Lie looks good. Line? We’ll see.
“I did Q-School and came close to making the finals a couple of times. At that stage of my life I did envision myself here [at the PGA Championship]. [But] I’m married and have a kid now. The reason I got out of mini tours is because I didn’t want to travel anymore. I wanted to see my daughter.”
