Essential Skills Workshops
for CO-OP, OYAP and SHSM Programs

Overview

The Essential Skills Workshops have been designed for students who are registered in the Ontario Cooperative Education Program (CO-OP), the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) or a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) at an Ontario High School. In each of these programs, essential skills development is required, using the Ontario Skills Passport (OSP) as a guide.

  • Understanding of issues relating to human rights, discrimination, harassment & disability

Delivery

In the Essential Skills Workshops, students are treated as young adults in a professional setting, away from the school environment, which is integral to gaining an understanding of life in the workplace beyond secondary and postsecondary education.

Gib Murdoch provides an active, informative and relevant presentation for CO-OP students and any young student entering the work force.
